K-pop girl group iii returns with "WaiT", with heavily use AI in an MV

Indie/Nugu K-pop girl group iii (Subin, Taeri, Namking, Hana, Eungi) is back with a new digital single called ‘WaiT’, which dropped today at 6 PM KST across music sites.

While nugu comebacks often fly under the radar, iii is generating plenty of online buzz this time around by leaning heavily on artificial intelligence for their music video production—pushing generative tech further than what most human K-pop groups typically attempt.

Stepping up the sci-fi lore with AI visuals

The music video plays out like a gritty, short-form sci-fi flick. Instead of standard physical sets, the group utilizes heavy AI-generated aesthetics, creating a shadowy, futuristic cityscape where the members suit up as covert operatives facing off against demon-like foes.

It builds directly on the dark universe they started establishing with their debut single, ‘RE:AL iii’, last year. By blending generative AI graphics with a chic, fierce concept, they managed to put together a visual identity that stands out from the usual rookie playbook.

On the audio side, ‘WaiT’ is a hard-hitting hip-hop dance track packed with:

The production was handled by One-0-Five label, a team known for working with various established acts, giving the rookie group a pretty polished sound.
